The City requires the services of an experienced multi-disciplinary consulting team, which may include urban design, landscape architecture, architecture, public art, transportation engineering, and cost analysis, to complete a multi-phase project starting with a Streetscape Master Plan for the 9th Avenue SE corridor. This is a multi-phase project that is part of the Main Streets initiative.
The streetscape master plan will provide a comprehensive summary of known conditions, issues, and constraints; identify, analyze, and recommend potential improvement opportunities; provide design criteria and concept development along with analysis of alternatives; present the recommended concept design for the 9th Avenue SE corridor; and summarize cost estimates, and future operational and maintenance requirements. The recommended design concept also includes design for the Blackfoot Trail underpass, gateway treatment at each end of the corridor, the transition from the 9 Avenue bridge and at entry points into the corridor such as 12 Street, concept design for 12 Street north of 9 Avenue to the Zoo Bridge, and the interface along Mills Park, Out West Park and the future Jack Long Park.
This RFP is for Phase 1 of the master plan, but potential future work may include the following subsequent phases: (2) design development, (3) detailed design and construction drawings, and (4) construction and contract administration for the construction phase.
