16-1737 - Consulting Services for Road Safety Projects

The City of Calgary (The City) is issuing this Request for Standing Offer (RFSO) for the purpose of retaining up to five (5) consulting firms to provide a variety of engineering services for The City’s road safety projects. These projects will be smaller scale and involve data collection, traffic analysis, roadway geometric analysis, collisions, conflicts, and human factors to identify safety issues and recommend countermeasures to improve safety on Calgary roads. Work may include but is not limited to In-service Road Safety Review (ISRSR), Road Safety Audits (RSA) and related traffic studies.
 
An ISRSR is an in-depth engineering study of an existing road using road safety principles with the purpose of identifying cost effective countermeasures that would improve road safety and operations for all road users.
 
An RSA is a formal and independent safety performance review of a road transportation project by an experienced team of safety specialists, addressing the safety of all road users.
 
This opportunity is made available to the consulting firms that specialize in road safety. Work will be assigned to the successful firms on a rotational basis, as defined in the selection process section.
