17-1570 - Rosedale Affordable Housing

The City of Calgary - Affordable Housing division has an opportunity to develop eight remnant parcels in the community of Rosedale building up to 16 residential units. The lot widths range from 6.22 m (20.4 ft) to 10.48 m (34.4 ft) and provide a unique challenge for innovative, creative designers and contractors. The successful team will take the project from design conception through to construction completion.

The City is looking to showcase these eight sites as innovative design and construction solutions to achieve best-practice outcomes for affordable housing. Leading edge architecture and place-making techniques will help to transform these small, remnant parcels into homes within a thriving community. Scheduling efficiencies and constructability is important for these sites.

The objective of each of these sites is to provide housing solutions that will maximize living space, and stay within budget. Affordable Housing concentrates on energy efficiency, building durability and tenant health. The successful team will be made up of a project lead, up to eight designers and a construction team.
