Description

The City of Calgary has a requirement for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Powered Ice Resurfacers for use on City owned ice rinks.

The CNG ice resurfacers will be used by The City for 7 to 10 years and in temperatures ranging from –20°C to +20°C. Units will average 400 to 700 operational hours per year. There will be approximately 20 floods per day on rinks up to and including Olympic sized ice rinks (26 m x 61 m).

Each flood operation will include:

Planing the ice;
Picking up and storing snow;
Wash and squeegee the ice surface;
Evenly distribute water on the ice to facilitate the production of a new ice surface; and
Dump snow from storage.
