Description

Summary:
The City of Calgary (“The City”) is giving a Notice of Intent to revise the term of agreement under a recently closed Request for Proposal (RFP) 18-1615 from initial two (2) years term to five (5) years, with option to renew up to three (3) additional one (1) year terms. Total maximum term remains at eight (8) years. The City intends to enter into contract with NSC Minerals Ltd. for the revised agreement term for the supply and delivery of road salt for use in de-icing road surfaces.

Background:
The City is responsible for providing a safe, effective and well-maintained road system for all travel modes with a commitment to excellence, innovation, sustainability and environmental sensitivity. To assist The City in accomplishing this target, The City requires a supplier for the supply and delivery of road salt for de-icing purposes. The City may consider product pick-up if necessary at the Supplier’s facility if located within proximity for pick-up.

Anticipated Annual Quantity Required: 70,000 tonnes.

Term of Agreement:
Original RFP 18-1615 term of agreement:
“The Agreement will be for a Term of two (2) years.
The Agreement be may renewed on the same terms and conditions for up to three (3) times for two (2) years each time. Total maximum term is eight (8) years (including initial term).”

Revised to:
“The Agreement will be for a Term of five (5) years.
The Agreement be may renewed on the same terms and conditions for up to three (3) times for one (1) year each time. Total maximum term is eight (8) years (including initial term).”
