The City of Calgary (“The City”) requires a qualified firm to provide inspection, maintenance and repair of cranes, hoists and lifting devices at The City’s wastewater treatment facilities, water treatment facilities and secondary pump stations (“the Facilities”). This work may also include equipment replacement, as required.
The Facilities are currently equipped with a total of 370 lifting devices: 264 at Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and 106 between Water Treatment Facilities and Secondary Pump stations. However, the Facilities are under constant improvement, and equipment is regularly removed, replaced or newly installed, so this total is liable to change.
The following lists of manufacturers and equipment types provides an example of the equipment utilized at the Facilities, however this should not be assumed to be exhaustive. The Supplier is expected to have familiarity and working experience with a variety of equipment manufacturers and types.
The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to one (1) year. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for four (4) additional one (1) year terms for a potential total term of five (5) years.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
