The City of Calgary has several proposed projects in different stages of development planned for the Eau Claire and surrounding downtown core. The projects are planned for execution starting in 2021, continuing for several years pending funding being secured.
Due to the number of proposed projects, interfaces and importance of coordination at a program level, The City has identified the need to engage a consulting firm to assist with various components of the proposed developments, including coordination with potential future City and private developments.
The City is seeking to select one (1) qualified consulting firm to serve as an owner’s representative, responsible for general project coordination and oversight including coordination of construction contract processing and documentation in cooperation with project teams, design assistance and coordination of interfaces and elements not currently captured under existing detail design scopes, procurement support, site inspections and assessments, coordinating public communications and general oversight on The City’s behalf for projects within, and in proximity to, the Eau Claire Area Improvements program including, but not limited to:
- Downtown Flood Barrier and Eau Claire Promenade;
- Centre Street Bridge Pedestrian Ramp Upgrades;
- 3 Avenue S. Walking and Wheeling Upgrades;
- Eau Claire Plaza;
- Jaipur Bridge Replacement; and
- Future proposed public and private developments, such as Green Line, private developments along 3rd Avenue SW, Centre Street BRT.
The City anticipates this assignment to be for approximately six (6) years, coordinating finishing of area projects. The work commitment will vary depending on the status of associated projects. Most of the work will be in the next two (2) to three (3) years with variable commitments thereafter.
