Description

The City of Calgary will publish a Request for Proposal (RFP) in May 2018 on MERX seeking proposals from Information Technology (IT) contingent worker suppliers with the intent to contract with one managing service supplier, supplementing this supplier with up to four secondary resource suppliers. The managing service supplier will also participate in the engagement process as one of the four (4) secondary resource suppliers.

The managing service supplier will:

provide managed IT services for the engagement of IT contingent workers;
provide a vendor management system to facilitate the process;
undertake managing service supplier responsibilities for all worker engagements; and
participate equally as a resource supplier in all IT contingent worker engagement opportunities.

Project Scope:
The City currently draws skilled Information Communications Technology (ICT) workers from a list of pre-qualified IT firms to meet the service demands that exceed The City’s internal capacity.
The City is moving to a new ICT program and will consolidate most of the IT contingent labour sourcing. The goals of the new program include increased efficiency to rapidly provision ICT workers, reduced administration, and reduced labour and program overhead costs.
Full details of the new program will be disclosed in the RFP. A pre-proposal meeting will be held shortly after release of the RFP with details published within the RFP to provide suppliers with the opportunity to ask questions specific to the RFP.
Existing ICT worker contracts with The City will remain in effect for the specific term of the worker contract. Any new opportunities for ICT workers will follow the existing ICT worker opportunity process, until the contract for the new ICT program is implemented
