The City of Calgary Fire Department (“CFD”) intends to select one (1) Supplier to provide the following Services: (1) routine maintenance and repair services on a pre-scheduled basis, and (2) urgent breakdown repair services on an emergency call-out basis, on the following equipment:

  1. two (2) mobile and four (4) stationary breathing air compressors with their associated fill stations and air storage cylinders;
  2. four (4) aerial apparatus with their onboard air storage cylinders, and
  3. all attached accessories, including but not limited to high pressure lines, auto-cascade system and valves.(together, the “Equipment”).

The Equipment is critical to CFD’s performance of its emergency response mandate. The Equipment must be available in good working order for use 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In order to achieve this, it is critical that any Equipment downtime is kept to a minimum.  As a result, CFD intends to select an experienced Supplier to:  
  1. establish and maintain a strong preventative maintenance program for the Equipment; and
  2. stock a surplus of frequently used parts, consumables and materials for the Equipment to eliminate or reduce down time to the extent reasonable possible.

    Proponents are strongly urged to attend the Pre-Proposal Meeting at ALL THREE (3) Meeting Locations on the Meeting Date at the Meeting Times, in order to understand the configuration of the equipment and the scope of the services.

    Personal Protective Equipment (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection and hard hat) must be worn.
