The City of Calgary (The City) is seeking a qualified consulting firm with a strong skill set to lead an investigation on financial reporting best practices, who understands the current state and able to make recommendations for implementation of a more robust, transparent future state of budget reporting.
Calgary Recreation strategically plans, builds and directly operates many City of Calgary recreation facilities, including aquatic centres, fitness centres, arenas, athletic parks, arts centres, leisure centres, golf courses, the reservoir and a soccer centre. Calgary Recreation also leads and invests in the publicly funded recreation sector by supporting partner facility operations and programming.
This statement of requirement describes the financial review and translation services required by Calgary Recreation to establish best practices in structuring its financial reporting for transparency of costs for services being delivered (facilities, programs, services) and decision making.
Calgary Recreation currently has its financials structured according to historical Corporate standards which leaves the business unit unable to efficiently and accurately determine financial performance for services and business improvement initiatives.
The Consultant will have full time access to a Calgary Recreation Finance Coordinator to support the project work.
