In support of The City’s Climate Resilience Strategy (link), The City requires a Consultant to provide education for practical energy efficiency, water conservation, waste diversion, safety, and home billing education to Calgary’s underserved communities (i.e. low income, new Canadian, urban Indigenous, and senior audiences). This education should be provided via a variety of effective methods including, but not necessarily limited to, individual home visits with citizens, social media communications, physical toolkits provided to citizens, public workshops and presentations, and attendance at public events in Calgary. In addition, the Consultant will provide The City with data collection services.
The purpose of this project is to inspire behaviour change in communities that may lack access to information due to language, culture, or technology. For this reason, the Consultant should use a model that focuses on building long-term relationships with partners and participants, and overcomes trust and language barriers. This program would support the goals of the Climate Program, Waste & Recycling Services, and Water Resources groups, and is aligned with the education actions embedded within The City’s Climate Resilience Strategy.
The Agreement will have a term of three (3) years.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
