19-1787 - Bulk Sodium Chloride for Water Treatment

Supply and delivery of bulk sodium chloride on an as needed basis to the City of Calgary's Water Treatment Plants.

Sodium chloride is used at the Water Treatment Plants in the process of on-site generation of sodium hypochlorite for disinfection. Due to the critical nature of the disinfection process, the Supplier will work closely with The City to ensure clear communication, consistency with order placement, and timely delivery of bulk sodium chloride to both plants. The Supplier will provide a priority supply of sodium chloride at all times and/or provide acceptable alternatives to ensure no interruptions to The City’s disinfection process.

The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to two (2) years. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for two (2) additional two (2) year terms for a potential total term of six (6) years. 
 
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
