20-1692 - Para Transit Van Shared-Ride Service

Calgary Transit is responsible for the delivery of specialized shared-ride and accessible fixed-route transit services for Calgarians with disabilities. Calgary Transit is soliciting responses from interested transportation companies to provide pre-scheduled shared-ride transportation services for people with disabilities using accessible Paratransit Vans. Paratransit Vans are defined as vehicles, which have been constructed or retrofitted to accommodate two or more persons travelling with a mobility device plus three (3) or more ambulatory passengers.

The work to be performed under the provision of the contract consists of pre-scheduled shared-ride, door-to-door transportation services for ambulatory and non-ambulatory (wheelchair users) persons with disabilities. During the term of the contract, the Proponent will be required to annually provide approximately 55 para transit vans and drivers to deliver approximately 126,000 hours of service on a shared-ride basis subject to demand.
