21-1520 - Supply & Delivery of Sodium Hypochlorite

The City of Calgary is seeking a qualified vendor to supply and deliver a bulk 12% solution of sodium hypochlorite to the Bonnybrook, Fish Creek and Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) on an as-needed basis. The estimated volume of this contract is 750,000 litres per year.

A 12% sodium hypochlorite solution is used at the WWTPs to disinfect effluent water. On occasion, it is also used to control foam on the bioreactors. To meet the wastewater treatment requirements of the citizens of Calgary, it is imperative that The City receives an uninterrupted supply of sodium hypochlorite at all times.

The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to two (2) years. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for four (4) additional two (2) year terms for a potential total term of ten (10)years. 

This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
