The City of Calgary (“The City”) is giving a Notice of Intent to enter into contract with Cansel Survey Equipment Inc. for continued supply and delivery of surveying equipment.
Background:
The City’s Field Surveying Services (FSS) performs high-precision land measurement surveys for engineering and legal surveying projects. We are responsible for developing and maintaining The City’s High Precision Network (HPN), which is the primary survey control network necessary for development, surveying and mapping. We also provide professional surveying advice on legal boundary issues and positioning solutions (e.g. GPS). Our clients include business units involved in infrastructure and land development as well as external customers using the HPN.
Currently, FSS uses the Trimble line of surveying products. Compatibility with existing hardware, software, procedures, processes and training built around the Trimble equipment is very important.
Scope of Work:
The scope of this project includes total stations, controllers, GNSS receivers and the surveying processing software & licenses.
The robotic instrument must function with the existing Trimble GPS systems on the base; Meaning that the current data controllers must be able to operate the robotic instrument. The instrument must interface with Survey Controller V. 2015.10 software. Also the data files must be 100% compatible, so that they can be transferred easily in the field between the Bases existing RTK GPS and the new Robotic Total Station. The instrument must be capable of performing an integrated survey with Trimble R8 and R10 GNSS receivers. The battery charger and system of the new robot must be compatible and able to charge the existing Trimble R8/R10/GNSS GPS equipment.
